A cracking new fantasy, well written, well received by the critics as far as I could see. I found the novel easy to get into, neither well written nor badly, well conceived and was good reading but my big problem with it is; its just another fantasy tale.
It is good, I do not mean to run it down and I enjoyed reading it but am I panting, waiting for the next installment? Sadly no.
One day I will read the second and third installments and feel sure that I will enjoy them in the same way as I did the first. Will they propel me on, make me wish to read, make me hurry to see what will happen next? sadly no.
An enjoyable read for those who love epic fantasy. I really liked it.
