Ash, A review, Raymond Walker
A well known author, you know what you get from James Herbert, a bit ghostly, a little horror, a touch of romance and all wrapped up in a "Thriller" style package.
This is no different to many he has produced before. The romance was shoe-horned in but the story; easy to read and quite enjoyable in a throwaway sense. I did enjoy the book but it was nothing special my only interest being in that it was predominantly set in Ayrshire, where I live, these days.
A long flight, a waiting room book, a dark rainy day where the TV is rotten, this will fill the hours and is entertaining but if you wish an edge, something more dramatic, terrifying, breathtaking then this is not it.
Sadly It was James Herbert's Last book, He died a year later.
